Over the years, Ongar has grown to be a cricket loving community, with many adults, young boys and girls fancy plying the game. This led to the formation of Ongar Cricket Club in 2018. Since then, we were playing friendly matches with other clubs.

 

Ongar CC is now affiliated with Cricket Leinster and taking part in open competitions with 2 teams for the year 2023 season. We are proud to have got Ringcommons CC as our partners and are set to play our home matches in their ground in 2023. We are actively looking to gain our own permanent ground in the Dublin 15 area with the help of Fingal County Council and Cricket Leinster.

A few Years back in 2017, a group of cricket loving friends got together and started to play friendly cricket in Latchford Ground, situated in the Ongar area. Gradually this attracted people from nearby estates and within a few months we were playing friendly matches on weekends. 
One thing led to another and we ended up with around 40 players by the end of 6 months and eventually formation of Ongar Cricket Club in 2018. Since then, Ongar CC has grown strong day by day and has been actively involved in providing the right path for young children to learn and take up sport seriously. This way we are making all the efforts in taking the game to the grass root level in Dublin 15 area.
