After a winter break another article for the archive series. In this case we go back to the beginning and recall the first Handbook of Irish Cricket published in 1865 by John Lawrence.
Lawrence was to publish the series until the early 1880s and through it we get a fascinating insight into the early days of cricket in Dublin and Ireland.
The first issue contains much of what we know about the origins of club cricket, including extended accounts of the formation and early years of Phoenix CC, Leinster CC and Trinity CC. To read the full article go to Archive > Articles
