The clock is ticking. The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport has just announced the 2018 round of the Sports Capital Programme. The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday October 19th.
As previously announced, Cricket Leinster has agreed a partnership with 2into3 to assist Clubs secure funding under future sports capital rounds. This led to the organisation of a Sports Capital Masterclass on January 27th where participants were given an in-depth look at the Sports Capital landscape, looking at the performance of cricket compared to other sports, whilst also analysing the performance of Cricket Leinster clubs. The worryingly high rates of invalidity of applications (at 40%) among Cricket Leinster clubs was also addressed.
Cricket Leinster is now running another Sports Capital Grant Masterclass on Thursday 13th September in the Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan (off N11). The session will run from 7.00pm to 9.30pm and will again be facilitated by 2into3, who are experts in the Sports Capital Programme. This event, which is free to attend, is an informative opportunity to develop skills in Sports Capital Grant applications and will cover best practice and common pitfalls associated with such applications. Participants will receive guidance on their ability to meet the grant application requirements, identify how much can be applied for as well as determine the timeframe and process required to prepare the application. Clubs who attended the previous event are encouraged to once again attend as there are changes to the guidelines.
Attending this event will inform you as to what you can apply for between now and the tight deadline.
