There is an increased air of optimism about the start of the cricket season reflected in the level of player registrations over recent weeks.

Seven clubs now have over 100 registered players with Leinster CC continuing to lead the way with 149 players already signed up for the 2021 season.
Terenure CC (104) and Pembroke CC (102) have both passed the century mark in the past week – the Terenure number is particularly impressive and reflects a major focus on membership over recent years.
Youth registration remains brisk as clubs look forward to the return of youth training on 26th which is just over a week away now. As reported previously, Cricket Leinster is keen to support this youth focus by the provision of starter packs (free of charge), full personal accident insurance and a €3.00 rebate to each club for any players 9 years of age and under who register. This is to assist with the coaching and development effort.
Our Development Officers are planning specific district-based blitz events for the Under 9s (both boys and girls) with more to come on this shortly. Again all of these events will take place in club settings and free-of-charge.
