The level of excitement and anticipation around the new cricket season is palpable and this is reflected in the rate of player registrations across all categories.
The youth numbers are particularly impressive – we now have over 1,200 registered youth cricketers across the province with particular growth being experienced in the Under 9 category and from clubs which previously haven’t focused on youth cricket. Almost all clubs are already showing growth on the youth side (over 2020) with a particular surge having taken place around the return to youth training from Monday last, 26th April.
The key benefits of youth registration include:
- Participation in all CL club youth competitions
- Full Personal Accident Insurance
- CL branded Starter Pack
- €3.00 rebate to the club for all Under 9s registered
- Access to CL Blitz events during the summer

The big movers in the past 7 days have been Pembroke CC (up 36) with continued strong progress at Merrion CC (up 18), Adamstown CC (up 15), Malahide CC (up 13) and YMCA CC (up 12).
Registration numbers for our Women’s competitions are very encouraging with almost 500 players registered to-date which augurs well from both a performance and a participation perspective.
Leinster CC continues to lead the way reflecting its excellence in this area with strong numbers also across the board. The focus on women’s cricket at both Phoenix and Terenure is also coming through in their numbers with over 30 players already registered at each club (see top 10 below).
