Just one game was possible in the Cricket Leinster Academy Plus Division 1 last Thursday as Pembroke defeated YMCA at Sydney Parade.
Mary Waldron was the star of the show with 53 as Pembroke made 133 off their reduced 17 over allocation. Kim Garth also made an unbeaten 31 and took 1-8 as Pembroke won by 16 runs on DLS.
With better weather forecast for Thursday May 2nd, there is more hope of the two matches scheduled going ahead.
YMCA, with Kerrie Tomlinson going up against her former side, will hope to bounce back with a home match against last season’s Senior Cup winners, Clontarf.
Meanwhile 2018 League Winners Leinster, will get their defence up and running with a home tie against Malahide in Rathmines.
Peter Boyd will be in Claremont Road covering YMCA against Clontarf on @cricketleinster with a match report here following the match.
Academy Plus provide security for students who are away from home studying here in Ireland and General Manager of Cricket Leinster Philip Smith is delighted to have them on-board as title sponsor of the Women’s Division 1.
