A review of the data this week confirms that 3 out of every 4 players from 2020 has renewed their registration for 2021 which is very encouraging.
Youth registration is particularly brisk as clubs look forward to the return of youth training on 26th which is less than 3 weeks away now. Cricket Leinster is keen to support this youth focus by the provision of starter packs (free of charge), full personal accident insurance and a €3.00 rebate to each club for any players 9 years of age and under who register. This is to assist with the coaching and development effort.
Our Development Officers are planning specific district-based blitz events for the Under 9s (both boys and girls) with more to come on this shortly. Again all of these events will take place in club settings and free-of-charge.
We are also hopeful that adult training will follow shortly thereafter during May subject to further Government guidance.

You can see below that five clubs now have over 100 players registered for the 2021 season so far which is brilliant progress – these clubs are Leinster, Phoenix, Adamstown, Merrion and The Hills.
The big movers this week were Merrion CC (which signed up a further 20 players), Pembroke CC (up 11) and Leinster CC (up a further 10). Perhaps most worthy of mention is Castleknock CC which entered the top 20 for the first time and now has 56 registered players.
