Cricket Leinster can today confirm the draws for the LHK Insurance Brokers sponsored Alan Murray Cup and Senior 2 Cup. The draws were facilitated by Keith Young of LHK Insurance Brokers, and Cricket Leinster would like to thank them hugely for their ongoing support of these competitions in the province.
The Alan Murray Cup is this year to be played as a straight knockout competition, as there are 14 teams in the competition, the OCC decided that last year’s Senior League Cup finalists would be given a first round bye, they are duly shown below. Railway Union will visit either North Kildare or North County in the quarter finals, whilst a trip to YMCA is the prize for the winner of the tie between Clontarf and The Hills.
There are two all Premier League ties in the first round, Pembroke travelling to Phoenix whilst Malahide play host to Merrion, and an all Championship battle as Terenure host Rush. The final game of the first round sees Balbriggan make the trip to Rathmines to face Leinster.

The Senior 2 Cup returns for 2021, composed of all teams between Divisions 3 and 4, and has thrown up some excellent ties already in round 1. Perhaps surprisingly given the consistent nature of the competition, only two of the past 10 winners are represented, granted Clontarf 2 account for five of those titles, and Merrion 2 one other. The other four are shared by two 1st XIs, Balbriggan and Laois, who have had differing fortunes in the intervening periods since their victorious campaigns.
Starting at the top, Pembroke 2 play host to The Hills 2, the winner of which will face the victor of the tie between Merrion 2 and Malahide 2 – those with a keen eye will spot the chance of a replay of last season’s Tillain Cup semi-final between the two Dublin 4 sides. Also in the top half of the draw, YMCA 2 play host to North County 2, with the winner facing off against the side which prevails between Phoenix 2 and Clontarf 2.
The bottom half of the draw sees some equally interesting ties, YMCA 3 host Rush 2, with the winner facing off against either Leinster 2 or Merrion 3, who clash in Rathmines. Meanwhile Clontarf 3 make the trip to Knockharley, with the winner earning themselves a home tie against the winner of Railway Union 2’s home tie against Cork Harlequins 1.
