Merrion's six week stay at number one has come to an end, as Waringstown took advantage of another weekend off for Merrion, beating Ballymena and North Down to move back to number one spot.
The bad news was compounded for Merrion, as YMCA moved past them to become the number one team in Leinster. This may seem odd as both teams spent the weekend with their feet up. The reason for the 2012 matches that dropped off the rankings for both teams - YMCA lost a 2012 loss to Leinster, whilst Merrion lost a win over Railway Union.
Waringstown play in the Ulster Bank Challenge Cup final this weekend, whilst Merrion play Railway Union, and YMCA take on Terenure.
In other news, Civil Service North beat both Downpatrick and Muckamore to move back into the top 10 and Leinster beat Cork County to continue their Joe Carroll led renaissance, moving up to 17th in the process (Cork County dropped four to 25th)
Strabane's Dl malfunction wasn't included in the rankings - we prefer to only log games that are won on the pitch, but they dropped two places all the same.
Ardmore's win over Bready was the most eye catching win of the weekend, with Decker Curry's sensational assault earning Ardmore a jump of three places up to 28th.
