Right arm seam bowler Shravon Biju has joined quicks Josh Little, David Delany and Reuben Wilson in winning the prestigious Cricket Leinster Youth ‘Find a Fast Bowler’ competition.
Biju, who comes from a strong cricket family, (his older brother Sidharth played with the Ireland u15s in 2024) is a passionate cricketer and was a key member of the Leinster u13 squad this year partaking in a 4-match series vs NCU and also having an excellent tour to the North West in the Foyle College u13 festival.
Shravon’s club, Adamstown Cricket Club, is one of the fastest-growing cricket clubs in the country, securing a new ground with the support of South Dublin County Council at Airlie Park and an indoor training facility in 2020, which has contributed to their 2024 success including winning seven Leinster youth division titles.
That success is a reward for the Adamstown year-round commitment to creating a cricket academy, of which Shravon is a member, centred on an ethos of making cricket affordable, welcoming to all, and at the heart of their local community.
Ashok Cutinha, President of Adamstown Cricket Club, was delighted to see another award in what has been a remarkable season for the club. “Congratulations to Shravon, he is a special talent and a true example of the talent we are able to develop in the club. Shravon started very young with the club as a 6 year old, and he continues his love for cricket. You can always see him training and bowling in the nets. This year has been very special for him as he also played adult cricket in the same team as myself and was among the top wicket takers for the team. I wish him all the best and hope to see him in an Irish jersey one day"
In a very inspiring gesture, Shravon has been invited by his idol, the Irish cricketing star Josh Little, to meet and train with him when Josh is next in Leinster.
Josh added, “Congratulations on your award Shravon. Very humbled that I am your favourite cricketer, and I would like to meet with you, so I can present your award and more importantly bowl with you to learn first-hand how you won such a prestigious award”.
