While the T20 World Cups are being held in Bangladesh at the moment, the 2 annual SDCC 'European Week Against Racism' Sports blitzes took place recently at Clondalkin Leisure Centre. The SDCC (South Dublin County Council) area was represented by 16 schools from all over the county at these two events including Adamstown, Lucan, Clondalkin, Tallaght, Templogue, Walkinstown and Rathfarnham.
The winners of the primary school competiton were Bishop Galvin NS Templeogue.
The winners of the secondary school competition were Templeogue College.
The teams participated in cricket, football and tag rugby matches over the course of the day. The most important aspect of the day was the children from different backgrounds and areas of the county mixing freely and enjoying the sport being played. It is part of the awareness campaign surrounding the 'European Week Against Racism'
