Leinster took on Merrion in the second Leinster Senior Cup Final in 1936 in Sydney Parade. In an era with uncovered wickets, the weather played a significant part over the three days of a low scoring final. In the end Leinster came out on top by 35 runs to record their first Senior Cup victory. They subsequently went on to win the trophy nine more times. Merrion and Leinster fought out two more finals with Merrion winning in 1940 and Leinster again taking the trophy in 1985. To see the full account of the 1936 final go to Archives > Articles.
