Leinster Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (LCU&SA) would like to announce the following courses that will be held this autumn.
It's Your Call – Umpire Education Stage One
This is designed to give you an overview of the basic Laws of the game and how to apply them and introduce the principles of field craft and match management. It will give you the tools to enable you to umpire matches at the basic recreational level where there are no independent umpires appointed.
This course is run over a weekend and costs €50. The Candidates must register and complete The Laws of Cricket online course at https://laws.lords.org/course/view.php?id=80. Completing the online basic level exam is mandatory if the candidates intend to umpire
The in-class Stage 1 course is available to candidates in Ireland. LCU&SA will not pay travel expenses to the candidates. Parking is free on the nearby public parking. Refreshment and lunch will be provided. Course to take place in Terenure Cricket Club.
Candidate have the option to sit this course either on the 13th and 14th of October or on the 17th and 18th of November.
It's Your Call – Umpire Education Stage Two
This course is designed to give you further knowledge and skills to enable you to become a member of a league panel and is available if you have attended Stage One. It will complement that course by looking beyond the basic laws, build on field craft and match management techniques and introduce the concept of working, as a team, with a colleague.
This course is run over a weekend. The cost is €50.
The Candidates must register and complete The Laws of Cricket online course at https://laws.lords.org/course/view.php?id=80 along with the in-class Stage 1 Course. Completing the online basic level exam is mandatory if the candidates intend to umpire.
The in-class Stage 2 course is available to candidates in Ireland. LCU&SA will not pay travel expenses to the candidates. Parking is free on the nearby public parking. Refreshment and lunch will be provided.Course to take place in Terenure Cricket Club.
Candidate have the option to sit this course either on the 20th and 21st October 2018 or on the 24th and 25th of November.
