Bagenalstown Cricket Club will feature on TV and radio legend John Creedon’s new series on RTE 1 on Sunday 25th August at 6:30pm. In “Creedon’s Atlas” the presenting veteran dons some hastily arranged cricketing whites and faces a variety of Baggies players as he picks up a bat for the first time. And pretty well he does too, although to be fair we took it pretty easy on him, and held back on the chin music.
It was a fascinating day watching how a show is put together and we’re delighted to be getting such great coverage of the club and of amateur cricket in Ireland. Several members of the club were interviewed in a process that took five hours or so, but we figure we’ll be lucky if that equates to a few minutes of air time.
We have no idea what will end up on the cutting room floor (okay, in the Windows trash basket), but judging from a clip on the show last night (18th August) the footage of John facing a few balls will feature heavily.
If you have
nothing better to do, have a peek and see if you recognise anyone. It’ll be on
the RTE player for anyone that misses it.
If my contribution makes it on to the programme, I’ll be available for further
media appearances c/o my new agent, and I’m pleased to confirm that I’ll
happily sign autographs for a moderate fee.
