The U19 boys' Leinster final takes place in Merrion between North County and Merrion this evening.
It is far from ideal timing as Merrion's Tyrone Kane and North County's Cormac McLoughlin are away on Ireland U17 duty; a lack of fixture space meant that a move could not be made.
It should be a tight final, however, and high-scoring too as it will be played on the mat and the Merrion outfield is quick. Dave Watkins has hit form for Merrion, and other key players to look out for are keeper Patrick Tice, opening bowler Matt O'Driscoll and spinner Kirk Shimmins.
Fresh from helping the Ireland U19 side to World Cup qualification, North County will have valuable spinning all-rounder Adam Coughlan available while another key player for them will be Johnno Andrews.
With such a short boundary on the clubhouse side, and the mat and quick outfield key factors, the team that fields better should win the tie.
