The biggest gathering ever of administrators and players to discuss issues relating to the organisation of the sport in Leinster took place in the Green Isle Hotel on Saturday. Over 100 people attended the Cricket Leinster Club Day, representing more than 30 clubs and all the main sections , committees and partners. There was a presentation by the CEO of Cricket Ireland, Warren Deutrom, on the proposed strategic direction for the game over the next five years. Brian MacNeice also made a presentation and answered questions about the proposed incorporation of the Leinster Cricket Union as a company limited by guarantee.
But the main focus of the day were the discussions in the morning about the running of competitive cricket in Leinster. There was a lively debate on a wide range of topics. A full report will follow in the next few days.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who attended on the day and for their contributions to an excellent event.
