Bagenalstown Cricket Club are holding a charity cricket blitz and family fun day at their grounds this Saturday, August 30th, to raise funds for local girl Caoimhe Power, who is bravely battling leukemia. Caoimhe is the daughter of long-time Bagenalstown member Diarmuid Power, whom many of you will have played against over the years.
While I know it is a lengthy distance for many of you to travel, we are still looking for a few players for the blitz – for a donation of 20 Euro, you will get the chance to partake of some good old fashioned craic, and have a slap-up barbeque to boot. There will also be plenty of attractions for the family, including face-painting, sponge-throwing (or ice buckets, if you prefer!), and the day is being sponsored by our fabulous local brewery O’Hara’s. Mmm…
If you are unable to attend, you can still make a donation, either financially or in the form of a raffle prize, by contacting me on 086 0605101, or at colinctoneill@gmail.com. There will also be a donations bucket in the Pembroke Cricket Club bar, which Philip kindly offered to provide, if you happen to be in that vicinity.
On behalf of the Power family and our grand old club, I would like to thank everyone in advance for their support, no matter how large or small.
