Pembroke's win over Lisburn on Sunday means there are now seven Leinster teams in the 2nd Round of the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup. The matches will be played next Saturday and, with home draws for Pembroke, Phoenix, Clontarf, Merrion and Railway Union, there'll will be plenty of cricket to watch.
Eight of the ten most successful teams in the irish Senior Cup over the past five years [based on percentage of matches won] are through to the second round. The top 10 teams between 2006 - 2010 are North County [84%], Railway Union [76%], Merrion [71%], Rush [69%], The Hills [68%], Donemana [67%], Leinster [67%], Limavady [62%], Pembroke [58%] and Phoenix/Warringstown [55%].
There are two fixtures in the second round involving two of these teams; they are between Merrion and Donemana and Warringstown and North County. The latter promises to be the most intriguing tie of the round.

In the match between Pembroke and Lisburn, the Leinster side came out comfortable winners by 50 runs. But it took a strong finish to the Pembroke innings to post a competitive score of 232 for 9. [Rohit Bahl (65), Theo Lawson (34) and Stephen Moreton (29).]
No Lisburn batsman really got settled and with Steve Moreton taking four wickets, they were all out for 182 [David Simpson (42), Richard McConkey (35)]
