YMCA’s Ben Brownlee has won the 2015 'Find a Fast Bowler' award following several excellent performances with the ball when playing school, club and provincial cricket last summer. The award goes to promising fast bowlers from the Leinster region and this is the 10th year this programme has been in existence. It looks to identify young fast bowlers so club and provincial coaches can monitor their progress, offer them advice and help them to achieve their full potential.
Announcing this year’s winner was North County & Ireland bowler Eddie Richardson who has recently become a member of the Leinster under-age coaching staff. ‘I was impressed with Ben when seeing him last summer bowling at both at club and provincial level. This winter, not only has he grown, he is bowling several yards quicker and has all the attributes to become a fine fast bowler. I look forward to working with him and the other Leinster seam bowlers when U13 & U15 sessions resume in the New Year.
