It is great to see that there are 19 different clubs represented in the Finals this weekend which means that many clubs are still chasing silverware as we reach the culmination of the season.
There will be a new name on the Championship trophy, as Balbriggan and North Kildare will do battle for that prize with neither having ever won the competition before.
North Kildare CC is noteworthy as 4 of their 5 teams will be participating in Open Finals - giving them a chance to repeat the unprecedented feat of 2019 when they claimed four Open Competitions titles in one season.
Congrats also to Tyrrelstown CC which has secured their place in the Final of 3 out of the 4 Leagues in which the club competed. Similarly, Laois CC and Finglas CC are both in 2 Finals (out of 3 teams) which is a great achievement. Laois host Civil Service in Stradbally on Sunday which will no doubt be a great occasion.
Thanks are also due to Ringcommons CC which is kindly hosting both the Division 16 and 17 Finals - it is very much appreciated.
Finally just to say thanks once again to BUAKIT Sportswear who are sponsors of both the Premier League & Championship Finals which take place in Sydney Parade on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th September - both games will be live-streamed with commentary on the CL YouTube channel.
Best of luck to all sides competing in finals in the coming week or so - there are some excellent ties set to be played out right across the province throughout the leagues as we bring the curtain down on a fantastic 2021 season.
