Our thanks to Stephen Tonge (CUS & Leinster CC) who has concluded his tenure as Chair of the CL Secondary Schools programme after many successful years of his leadership.
In more recent years, Stephen, along with Una Budd, did brilliant work in re-establishing our secondary schools competitions after the Covid period, a programme which now spans circa 35 secondary schools across the province (including many newer entrants to schools cricket).
Stephen also steps down with an unrivalled record of playing success in recent years for CUS where he serves as Head of Sport.
In succession, we are pleased to announce that Rob Delaney (Temple Carrig School & Mullingar CC) will take on the Chair role from Stephen for the 2024 season. Rob brings a wealth of experience to this leadership position from his existing role in schools cricket and his leadership of women’s & youth cricket at Mullingar CC.
As part of this, Una Budd (The High School) continues to lead our Girls programme with support from Isobel Joyce (CL Women’s & Girls Development Officer).
Rob will be supported by a strong committee which includes Adam Malin (The High School), Cillian McDonnell (Willow Park/Blackrock College) and Robert Forrest (Mount Temple).
