Cricket Ireland has launched the Cricket Ireland Coaches’ Association (CICA)
The purpose of CICA is to support and raise the profile of our coaches. We aim to increase coaching standards through creating a community across the country, and by promoting and developing a culture of continuous improvement.
CICA will remain partners with the ECBCA and ICC Europe CA, but with the following key changes:
• Joining the CICA will be done through Cricket Ireland
• Renewing your membership will be done through Cricket Ireland
• Membership can be paid directly to Cricket Ireland in Sterling (£) or Euro (€)
• £5/€7 will be returned to provincial Coach Associations to deliver local workshops and support
• All communication will be conducted with members through CICA
• Clothing and Equipment deals will be provided bespoke to CICA members
The following benefits still remain:
• Insurance will be provided
• Key ECBCA resources will be provided
• Additional resources from ICC Europe are available

Provincial Coach Associations
Cricket Leinster (@leinsterca), the North West Cricket Union and the Northern Cricket Union (@ncucoaches) are at varying stages of setting up their Associations – some have been active for a number of years. There are plans to develop coach associations in Munster and Connaught.
Each Provincial CA will have their own specific purpose – driven by it’s own members. For example, one Provincial CA might feel like their focus is to promote the value of coaching and want to recruit new coaches in the region, whereas another might focus upon specific workshops tailored to coaching assistants, head coaches or provincial coaches.
This is where we will see most benefit, as the Provincial CA can deliver the exact content that it’s coaching workforce (and therefore, most importantly – it’s players) needs. You become a member of your Provincial CA automatically by joining CICA.
