The Cricket Leinster AGM was completed at Sydney Parade. We thank Pembroke CC for hosting our first face-to-face Annual General Meeting for two years.
The 2021 audited accounts were presented by Barry Tucker (Chair of Finance) and approved by the meeting.
John Heavey (Board Chair) provided the meeting with an overview of the proposed changes to the Constitution and Company Management Regulations which were then approved unanimously by those attending the meeting.
In particular, voting rights at General Meetings were amended to reflect the agreed principle of Full Member Clubs and Associate Member clubs; All clubs with teams in CL competitions now have voting rights in respect of that involvement. This key change is in line with our principles on inclusivity and fairness and is effective immediately.
Jim Bennett (CL President) provided the meeting with a short briefing on his presidential term to-date and in particular, Jim referenced the Archive Project which will ensure that all key artefacts and memorabilia will be preserved and accessible in perpetuity.
Jim acknowledged the excellent contribution of John Heavey as Board Chair confirming John’s renomination as Chair for a further 3-year term to 2025 which was acknowledged by the meeting with a round of applause.
In other business, there were discussions about some key topics including youth league table maintenance (on the website) and the new system aimed at incentivising increased umpiring capacity at club level (with commitments made on both).
Thanks to all who attended the AGM, it is hugely appreciated.
