Week two of indoor competition and the Falcons and the Chancers would be looking to bounce back, when they faced each other.
But first up was Adamstown vs the Spartans and the Spartans got to bat first.
Their first pair batted sensibly, accumlating runs without taking risks. They went through their three overs without losing a wicket and with 23 on the board.
The Adamstown bowlers struck back in the second set of three, taking wickets in each of the first two overs. A tough third over though left the Spartans firmly in control with 62 on the board after 6 overs.
Fortunes were matched in the next set, with both wickets and boundaries galore. 19 came off the set of three and the total was 81.
Adamstown saved their best set until last and three wickets in the last over cost the batters 15 runs and meant that they had to settle for 90 off their 12 overs. That's the biggest score to date and left a tough chase for Adamstown.
Spartans knew that the scoreboard would put most of the pressure on for them and it proved to be so. Tight bowling, excellent fielding and regular wickets meant that the total after the first set was only 6. The second set was tough for the batting side too and they added only 8 to bring them to 14.
They would need to push on but the next three overs saw 5 wickets taken, leaving Adamstown on 6 and with an impossible mountain to climb. In fairness to the two batters they finished the last set positively and had to settle for a total of 15 and a resounding victory for the Indigo Spartans.
The second match of the day saw Chancers win the toss and decide to bat first this week.
A solid three overs got them to 22, mostly thanks to losing only one wicket.
Unfortunately the next set saw runs and wickets aplenty and the net position of the Chancers regressed to 19. They continued to lose wickets and went into the last set of overs with only 16 on the board.
Their last set was positive with boundaries and extras bringing them to 24, would that be a reasonable target?
The first set of overs from the Falcons would have given the Chancers a feeling of hope, with only 6 on the board thanks to a couple of wickets.
However it would be 5 overs before they took another wicket and in that time the score had rocketed to 34 off 6 overs and then 53 in 9 overs. The Chancers would need to take lots of wickets in the lsat set to have any hope of defending 24.
The outcome was the complete opposite with the Falcons scoring runs left, right and centre, including 5 sixes in this set. They ended on 89, meaning the second significant victory of the day, this time to the IPPA Falcons.
Next week sees the IPPA Falcons vs Adamstown and Indigo Spartans vs the Chancers.
