As you probably know, we have scheduled competitive fixtures for Women's competitions from Thursday 16th July and for Open Competitions from Saturday 18th July.
All clubs are now free to arrange friendly fixtures in preparation for the competition start dates above.
All clubs are reminded that adherence to the protocols is critical for the health, safety and welfare of all concerned.
In that context, it has been decided to deploy CL staff to review compliance at a proportion of match venues for each day of the Open Competitions.
In this role, our people will be responsible for contacting assigned clubs during the week prior to their hosting of a match to confirm compliance or otherwise.
They will then be responsible for carrying out an on-site review on match day against a pre-defined checklist of requirements. On each occasion, they will complete a compliance checklist (which will be stored centrally) and they will have the authority to suspend or cancel a fixture for material non-compliance.
We are implementing this process to provide reassurance to all stakeholders that all matches will take place within the requisite safe playing environment.
Cricket Leinster is committed to ensuring that all participants enjoy a safe cricket experience for this abbreviated 2020 season.
