The Leinster Cricket Union would like to thank those clubs who attended the meeting in Pembroke CC this week to launch the Club Accreditation [ClubGrade] Process in Leinster. The LCU will consider the many useful points raised at the meeting and will incorporate agreed changes into a final document.
In the meantime clubs are asked to discuss internally how they intend to proceed. A number of steps need to be taken by the club:
[a] establish a team within the club to consider the requirements and recommendations set out in the ClubGrade Document and determine how best to achieve the standards set.
clubs should then set a timeframe by which they would like to complete the process and apply to the LCU to formally commence accreditation,
[c] nominate a liaison officer to work with the ClubGrade Officers appointed by the LCU.
Once the process commences clubs will be invited to present documentation to the appointed ClubGrade Officer[s] for the club, there will be a visit[s] to the ground by the ClubGrade Officer[s] [and by the LCU Grounds Committee] and a meeting[s] with key club personnel.
The LCU hope to work with clubs to bring as many clubs through the accreditation process as quickly as possible. Resources, however, are limited so applications will be treated on a ‘first come’ basis. Clubs are also reminded that to receive a discount on fees this year, clubs must successfully complete the process by the end of September.
Finally, the LCU are looking for candidates to serve as ClubGrade Officers [whose responsibility it will be to assist clubs through the process] and to serve on the LCU Accreditation Committee [who will initially approve the applications from clubs for accreditation]. Clubs are invited to forward names of persons who they consider suitable and who are willing to act in either of the above roles. Nominations should be received by 24th May.
