CoachEd in Leinster

Since the wrap up of the 2015 season in Leinster, there have been a number of courses run by Cicket Ireland in the Leinster region, as well as a Power Hitting workshop and a Coaching Forum. Below, you will see a list of the events that were run, including Child Protection and First Aid Courses that were run by the Leinster Coaches Association (LeinsterCA). 

Significant progress was made with increasing communication with clubs and opening up channels to give information as well as get much needed feedback. This was mainly due to the Coaching Forum that was held early in december. Following on from the forum Cricket Ireland decided to run an additional Welcome to Coaching Course - this time in Mullingar. The forum showed a clear need for a course to be run in the midlands area. The numbers that attended just confirmed what the clubs were telling us. 25 people attended and started on their first step on the coaching ladder.

Lastly, please do not forget that Garda Vetting is a vital legal part that is needed. To coach cricket you need to have your garda vetting through Cricket Ireland. Click here for the Garda Vetting Application Form and send it into Michael Hingston in the Cricket Ireland offices. It can take 6 weeks or more for it to be processed through CI and the garda vetting unit. If you are U16 you do not need to get Garda Vetting. If you are aged 16 or 17 you must fill out the garda vetting form and the Parental Consent Form for Garda Vetting.
