Our Development Programme across South Dublin has enjoyed great momentum throughout 2022 including some new ventures as follows:
In addition to continuing our focus on the schools-to-club Programme, we will be delivering multi-week walking cricket sessions over the next period. Based on feedback from schools, we have increasing focused on once-off Blitz Day events as an optimum way of increasing engagement between schools (especially the back-drop of rising transport costs).
The participation numbers below illustrate the success of this approach:
School Competitions - 2022 | # Players |
6th Class Soft Ball League | 90 |
5th Class Soft Ball League | 60 |
6th Class - Once-off Blitz | 44 |
5th Class - Once-off Blitz | 94 |
4th Class - Once-off Blitz | 116 |
Table Cricket Competition | 18 |
In aggregate, almost 5,500 pupils have participated in our Primary School cricket sessions across the South Dublin County Council (SDCC) area (with approximately 70% of those sessions being with 3rd - 6th class students).
We also achieved excellent participation and engagement from almost 450 Secondary School students.
Participation in the CL Cricket4All programme has continued its good momentum in the SDCC area throughout 2022 with over 150 kids with additional needs taking part, mainly in Table Cricket sessions.
Our overall participation levels are have almost doubled in 2022 when compared with 2019 (i.e., last full pre-covid year) and this reflects the dedication of our staff and the continued investment and support we receive from South Dublin County Council and Lord’s Taverners Ireland (as our charity partners).
Below you can see a list of the schools that we have been working with during 2022 - if you want your school or community group to be involved in these activities please contact our Development Manager for South Leinster:
