Reports from New Zealand over night are that the international cricket technology company CricHQ has been put into receivership. CricHQ are the owners of Total Cricket Scorer the eScoring package used by many in Cricket Leinster. TCS is using to score matches and submit scorecards to the Cricket Leinster Match Centre and results to the OCC/WCC to update averages and tables. During the summer CricHQ had withdrawn support for the Live Scoring of matches using iPads which caused much disappointment among followers of club cricket in the province.
It is too early at this stage to say how this will affect the scoring and reporting of matches in Leinster next season. The search for a replacement for TCS had already begun following the decisions of CricHQ last season. But the news from New Zealand will certainly make this search all the more urgent.
