Cricket Leinster is pleased to announce the selection of Tiflex Ltd as supplier for a trial League Ball Scheme in the 2018 season.
One of the proposals from the 2017 Focus Group process was to adopt a single supplier for League cricket balls in order to introduce universal standards and quality across selected competitions. During the off season a tender process was undertaken to identify a supplier and Tiflex Ltd was the chosen supplier. Tiflex Ltd are represented in Ireland by Andy Wooton (087-1650299).
As part of the process, Cricket Leinster has been able to secure bulk purchase prices and discounts in order to bring some value to the clubs in a vital area. It was the decision of the Cricket Committee, backed up by the Board, to make this scheme mandatory for OCC Divisions 1 to 4 and Women’s Branch Division 1 in the 2018 season.
The scheme will run as a pilot for one year with feedback to be obtained from clubs and umpires as to the quality and suitability of the chosen balls in each competition.
In recent weeks Cricket Leinster have been collating orders from the clubs in those divisions. This order is being placed in good time to allow for delivery well before the start of the season.
Clubs outside those divisions may choose any supplier or brand of cricket ball.
