Cricket Match for Irish Injured Jockeys
Holly Smyth (The Hills CC) is organising a fundraiser for the Irish Injured Jockeys Fund.
The Irish Injured Jockeys was set up in 2014 to increase awareness and raise vital funds to support our injured jockeys. Funds raised through Irish Injured Jockeys go to the injured riders who are in most need of support.
Holly spoke about the planned event as follows - ‘To increase awareness for this organisation, I am organising a special cricket match. The cricket match will consist of a variety of jockeys and also a selection of cricket players from various clubs around Leinster, there also may be a few surprise sport stars coming along on the day!’
The match is being held in The Hills Cricket Club in Skerries, County Dublin on Wednesday 11th July at 6pm, with all players arriving at 5pm.
There is no entry fee on the day (however no reasonable donations will be refused).
‘There will be donation buckets there on the day for people to support this worthy cause.
Following the match, everybody can quench their thirst at the club bar and enjoy one of our finest beef burgers!
There will also be a raffle taking place after the match where people can take a chance on winning some fabulous prizes!
Any donations given on the day will all go towards this notable cause.’
So please come on down and enjoy what will be a great evening in the sublime setting of one of Ireland’s finest cricket grounds!
