Cricket Leinster and Fingal County Council are delighted to confirm that the Fingal Cricket4All Blitz will return for a second year on Sunday 19th November 2023 and it will be once again held during Fingal Inclusion Week. This event will be held for older adults as well as young people with disabilities and additional needs.
Last year's inaugural event saw a chance for older adults and young people with disabilities and additional needs to play and compete alongside one another in both table cricket and adapted cricket activities and games. It was the first event of its kind in the district and was the first large event that was run under the newly developed Fingal Cricket4All pilot project and the success of the first year's event has lend itself to be ran again in 2023.
Project coordinator Killian Molloy has said on the launch of the event
"It is fantastic to announce the Cricket4All blitz will return for a second year. Last year's event was an incredibly enjoyable and fulfilling event. It was fantastic to see so many smiles on peoples faces and was amazing to see the inter generational aspect of the event and seeing how people can work together to achieve a common goal. I would encourage anyone to come along to give it a go regardless of age or ability"
People from all areas of Fingal, local cricket clubs and the wider area are encouraged to come along regardless of previous experience.
