Inter-Provincial action starts again this week as we take on the North-West Warriors in a Hanley Energy Championship match in Bready Cricket Club.
The Lightning go into the game in third place, eight points behind leaders the Northern Knights, but having played a game less than the other two teams. The Championship wraps up in Clontarf against the Knights starting 5th September.
The selectors are delighted to name a strong settled team for Bready, the notable exception being Simi Singh who is being rested with a slight shoulder problem in advance of Ireland’s clash with the West Indies. That means a first call-up this year for Clontarf’s David Delany.
The full squad is as follows:
John Anderson (c) (Merrion)
Andrew Balbirnie (Pembroke)
Peter Chase (Malahide)
David Delany (Clontarf)
George Dockrell (v/c) (Dublin University / Leinster)
Ed Joyce (Merrion)
Tyrone Kane (Merrion)
Kevin O’Brien (Railway Union)
Eddie Richardson (North County)
Jack Tector (YMCA)
Sean Terry (The Hills)
Lorcan Tucker (w/k) (Pembroke)
