Division 7 of the Open Comps is turning into one of the most exciting leagues imaginable, with the exception of Merrion 5ths who have only lost one match, and look unstoppable in their quest to win the league.
But below them, the most extraordinary battle is taking place. Malahide 4 are bottom, but even then a few wins could see them being promoted. Places 2-7 are then covered by only 6 percentage points, with any team capable of being promoted or relegated.
Bagenalstown 1 wdent into last weekend's clash with Leinster 4, feeling relatively assured - second spot in the league with only Merrion to look up to. Similarly Norrth Kildare 2 were looking over their shoulders, their Division 7 status looking decidedly unsure before their match against Malahide 4.
Then a loss for Bagenalstown and a win for North Kildare meant that they swapped places, with Bagenalstown in the relegation spot and Norh Kildare looking at promotion.
Next weekend sees four more matches in this fascinating group - Leinster 4 with a crucuail double header against Malahide 4, Bagenalstown 1 taken on Wexford 1, and North Kildare 2 take on Knockharley 1
