This afternoon's LHK Insurance Alan Murray Cup fixtures in the main saw a day of double jeopardy, as each of Leinster, Phoenix, Merrion, Malahide, Clontarf, North County and Pembroke all took away a double dose of victory from their two T20 games. In fact, only The Hills and Balbriggan shared the spoils over the course of the day's play.
Starting off in Rathmines, in both games, Terenure won the toss and batted, however three wickets for Avril Shukla and a brace for each of Tristen de Beer and Bilal Azhar saw the away side rolled over for just 63 inside 19 overs. Two wickets for Nitish Narayanan stalled Leinster briefly, however Monil Patel's unbeaten 31 led them to an 8 wicket victory inside 7 overs.
The Clee's second effort with the bat saw Séamus Lynch take off like a man possessed, striking 73 from just 35 balls, however after he was out the next best effort was just 13, as they posted a modest looking 147/9 in 20 overs. Shukla again taking three, and Azhar two, whilst Patel chimed in with two wickets this time. The chase was facile, with Leinster pounding 100 off the Power Play, including a truly remarkable over which Jai Moondra took for 45. Unsurprisingly, he top scored with 83 from just 33 deliveries, whilst Patrick Lynch made 34, Leinster running out 8 wicket winners once again, this time taking 12.5 overs.
In The Village, Malahide were thankful to 5/10 from Kelvin Donnelly, and 3/17 from Mohit Sane, as they knocked over Civil Service for 70. Younas Ahmadzai and Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin piled on the runs in just 8.2 overs, making unbeaten scores of 40 and 21 respectively in a 10 wicket win.

In Park Avenue, Merrion were the visitors, however the first game saw Railway win the toss and batting. Kenny Carroll made his seasonal reappearance and top scored with 31, however nobody else from 2-8 in the batting order managed double figures meaning a sub par total of 105/8 was always on the cards, three wickets for Max Sorensen and two for Tom Stanton the pick for Merrion. They chased the total for the loss of just two wickets in relatively unruffled style, Stephen Doheny top scoring with an unbeaten 64.
Next time around, Railway won the toss again, but changed tack and elected to bowl first, with the decision initially looking inspired as Merrion fell to 11/3, however an excellent partnership between Sam Harbinson and Pete Francis took the score to 73, before the skipper fell for 25, followed by another stand of 49 between Francis and Mick Lewis to move along to 121, before the latter was out for 29, at that point Francis opened up his shoulders, eventually finishing 88 not out, the pick of the bowlers was Zaman Safi who took 2/30. Railway's chase started awfully, with a wicket falling off Tom Stanton's opening delivery, Rob O'Brien and Hedayat Khogiani added 38, however a spell of 5/10 followed, and when Railway had fallen to 48/5, the game was essentially finished. The score moved to 84/6, before Danny Forkin was brought into the attack, his final figures of 4/6 being the pick of the efforts by a distance in securing a 77 run victory.
In Rush, there were two of the better games this afternoon, and Rush batted first in both instances. The first game saw 35 from Brandon Morris the top score, as 20s from both Nathan McGuire and Nasir Totakhil boosted the score to 142 all out. There were two wickets for each of Nick Stapleton, Olly Riley and Byron McDonough. Pembroke completed a relatively straightforward chase in fine style inside 13 overs, as Stapleton struck an excellent 75 from just 39 balls, whilst JJ Garth was unbeaten on 51 from 30, as the pair added an unbroken 122 to secure the 9 wicket win.
The second game went more in Rush's favour during the first innings, Josh Doyle firmly proving anyone who doubted his abilities wrong with 110 from just 57 balls, he was supported by McGuire's 36 and 23 from Totakhil in getting the total up to 199/5 in their 20 overs. Once again Stapleton was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/28 from his four overs. Having lost their in-form Tim Tector early in the first chase, Pembroke were shaken once again in the second this time losing both he and Garth with the score on just 12. An excellent partnership saw Zac McCabe support the excellent Stapleton once again, with the pair of Australians adding an unbroken stand of 192 for the third wicket. McCabe made a fine 73 from just 42 balls, featuring 9 fours and a maximum, however Stapleton stole the show, rounding off a day where he was the lead performer in every innings Pembroke played with his best effort of the lot, an unbeaten 112 from 59 balls, finding the boundary 12 times, and clearing it a further 5, with Pembroke securing an 8 wicket victory with 9 balls to spare.

The second game saw Clontarf running up a far more imposing 220/2 from their 20 overs, Rahul Dalal making 91, but the star of the show proving to be Mitchell Thompson, who made an unbeaten 104 from just 62 deliveries. That pair added 144 for the first wicket in a fine opening effort. Imran ul-Haq once again the pick of the bowlers, taking both wickets to fall. In response, North Kildare could muster just 141/9 from their 20 overs, Badeeu Zaman top scoring with 56. In Phoenix, the home side asked Adamstown to bat in the first game, and thanks to 34 for each of the openers, Kunal Nagare and Aditya Gupta, got off to a decent start. However, the hosts bit back and three wickets for Levon Shields, accompanied by four from left-arm spinner Dev Ranolia saw them all out for 131. Phoenix knocked off the runs with little fuss, taking just 14.3 overs and only losing two wickets in the process, Johit Munjal's unbeatan 71 the highlight in a routine victory.
The second game saw a change of plan, as the home team batted first and ran up 206/5, Shields top scoring with 99 from just 52 balls, whilst there were 20s for Kane, Amish Sidhu and James Maginnis.
