Tuesday saw the first indoor cricket tournament delivered by Cricket Leinster in conjunction with Dublin City Council. Teams (U13 Boys) from the Dublin City Council area played a series of games at the new Urban Cricket Centre in what proved to be a most successful day. Cricket Leinster’s partnership with Dublin City Council continues to grow with the council supporting many new initiatives currently being offered to schools and youth groups along with the provision of a variety of cricket activities during the school holidays.
Heading the DCC cricket programme is Fintan McAllister supported by coaches from different clubs within the Dublin City area
Many cricket programmes are delivered in partnership with the 19 sports development officers who are currently employed throughout the city supporting sporting participation activities.
A major boost to the further development of the game within the Dublin City area will see a new cricket ground being opened very soon in the Dublin 11 area. Further details to follow.

Well done to all participants who took part at the tournament – an exciting and enjoyable day for everyone involved with the teams. We, at Cricket Leinster will now offer further indoor competitions to the Dublin City clubs later this year.
