Cricket Leinster hosted a short reception yesterday in the Talbot Hotel for all clubs benefiting from the 2018 Cricket Leinster/Ed Joyce Club Development Fund.
It was brilliant that Ed could be there in person to present each club with their grant cheques, all of which will go towards projects aimed at enhancing the club game and facilities across Leinster.
The successful applicants and associated projects were as follows:
Bagenalstown CC - for a scarifier/ground equipment
Laois CC - for a line roller and slip fielding cradle
Gorey CC - towards a mobile cage and bowling machine
Clondalkin CC - for various youth training equipment
Phoenix CC - for a combined rake, brush unit and ferret (ground equipment)
Wicklow County CC - towards a cylinder mower
Leinster CC - towards practice balls, bats for juniors and a manual scoreboard for youth cricket
Railway Union CC - towards stand for bowling machine (health & safety)
Civil Service CC - for a new scoreboard
From a Cricket Leinster perspective, Philip Smith, General Manager comments as follows - ‘We are hugely indebted to Ed Joyce and Philly Quinlan for organising the Gala Dinner Event back in June and for initiating this ‘Ed Joyce Club Development Fund’ which has been very well received in the cricket community.
We look forward to working with Ed on the next phase of the project in 2019.’
On a separate note, all clubs are reminded that the deadline for applications in respect of the Cricket Ireland Club Grant scheme is fast-approaching - all applications need to be submitted by close of business on next Wednesday 31st October 2018.
