Cricket Leinster is delighted to announce the appointment of Eimear Richardson as Senior Manager within the CL leadership team. Eimear will report to Philip Smith in his capacity as CEO/General Manager.
Eimear brings a wealth of experience, skills and competencies to this role from her work across three provinces within New Zealand Cricket and will be a major addition to our team especially in the context of our growth & expansion plans for female cricket across the province. As everyone within the cricket community will know, Eimear is also a very successful Irish International cricketer with over 100 appearances for Ireland across both ODI and T20I formats, having also played within the New Zealand domestic leagues for the last 14 years.
Eimear has recently returned to Ireland having lived and worked in Australia and New Zealand for the past 15 years.
As part of this new role with Cricket Leinster, Eimear will support the General Manager in the implementation of the overall CL strategy (2024-27), developing strong and effective relationships with all major stakeholder groups in particular the member clubs, Local Authority partners, sponsors, patrons and our commercial partners.
Eimear will also be the overall lead for Women & Girls cricket in Leinster (participation & growth) including support to the Women's Committee. She will oversee the underage girls provincial programme and CL participation in Girls IP competitions (all aspects). Eimear will oversee a step-change improvement in how the girls pathway programme is designed and delivered (with the objective to produce more and better players for higher levels).
We are delighted to welcome Eimear to the team and look forward to her starting with Cricket Leinster in early January 2025.
