Fantasy League - Part III
In our continuing series of statistical breakdown of all result cards and the numbers they produce we have now arrived at the bonus categories. Every 50 or 100 runs in an innings and every five wicket (or more haul) is covered below.
140 centuries were scored this season by 120 batsmen. One man stands clear of the pack with four centuries scored in Division 16, S Kant Trikha. Will he find it as easy in 2016 whatever division Carlow find them in? Is he missing out on representative honours? At the other end, Angus Dunlop recorded his 19th Senior Century for YMCA Seconds in Division 2. Also of note is the Rush player, Player Unregistered. If he turns out and scores a century wouldn’t you get him registered for the rest of the season? Perhaps he was and the player concerned is now not credited with his century.
Here are all of our Centurions from 2015.

934 fifties were recorded by 529 players in over 1,700 games. This is equal to a half century every two games. Merrion’s R Smith raised his bat 8 times in 32 innings, or once every four games and yet did not once go onto turn one of these 50’s into a century. His highest score was 84. Now that is what I call consistent. 105 players scored at least three 50’s and they are:

Five wicket hauls are becoming more and more difficult to achieve. Bowlers are now limited in the number of overs they can send down; more and more games are played on artificial wickets, making it easier for batsmen to judge pace and bounce and; bats are becoming so big that even edges can go flying to boundaries. However there are still practitioners of the dark art of bowling that can still bamboozle and confuse batsmen. 151 ‘Michelles’ were recorded by 130 bowlers with Clontarf’s M Grainger leading the way with a quite remarkable four five wicket games.
Here are all 130 bowlers recognised for their good days/excellent days.

Finally in this episode, the stumpings: the mark that divides the wicket-keepers and the stoppers. The defining moment; catching the batsmen down the track, beaten by flight, guile or just his own rashness, and whipping those bails clear of the stumps. A most satisfying moment.
141 wicket-keepers effected at least 1 stumping. 351 batsmen departed after being given out at square leg as the wicket-keeper whipped the bails off and turned to square leg for the decision.
Here is everyone who did manage to get the finger up.
