Fingal County Council has completed improvement work at Porterstown Park, the home of Castleknock CC.
The club has been a victim of it's own success, and with three teams all using the same pitch, over use and wear and tear became a real problem during the 2013 season.
Fingal County Council's Parks Department came to the rescue, and after meeting with representatives of Castleknock CC and Cricket Leinster, plans were put in place to add a 3G surface at each end of the pitch, so that the bowler's run ups and area where wicketkeepers stand would be of the highest possible quality.
Worn areas of the surrounds were also re-sodded, removing safety concerns that existed last season.
The club are delighted with the work, and will be welcoming Rush as the first league visitors on May 4th for a Division 13 clash.
Many thanks again to all in Fingal County Council for their help on this project.
