It was another win for Fingal this evening in the second BUAKIT T20 fixture of the day, as they mercilessly despatched South Dublin & Midlands.
Having won the toss the Fingallians batted first, however neither Suliman Safi or Cameron Rowe could capitalise on starts, as Abid Taniwal and Mark Tonge took a wicket apiece.
Brandon Kruger made 27, adding 38 with Chris de Freitas who made 26. Both fell in quick succession however meaning Sebastien de Oliveira and Dylan Lues came to the crease in quick succession.
The pair however settled quickly, de Oliveira striking the ball cleanly throughout a 30 ball half century, and Lues proving the perfect foil making 26 from just 21 balls. Some late wickets saw Abid Taniwal finishing with 3/31 and the score at 173/7.
South Dublin & Midlands chase was always under pressure, Tristan de Beer making the bulk of the runs in the first 10 overs, however at 43/4, Alan Joseph Mathew and Mark Tonge added some resistance with a partnership of 41.
When that pair fell however, it was something of a procession, and the pick of the bowlers was Balbriggan’s Dylan Lues who took 3/9 and was clearly riding the high of his Leinster Lightning exploits this week, with Nasir Totakhil also taking 2/26, as Fingal ran out 70 run victors.
