IMPORTANT
It has been confirmed by the Department of Justice and Equality that commencement orders for the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012 to 2016 have been signed.
The Act commenced on the 29th April 2016. Any old forms that were submitted after this date to Cricket Ireland are not valid.
PLEASE NOTE:
Garda vetting has been a Cricket Ireland rule for all those working with children and or vulnerable persons (in a paid or voluntary capacity) for a number of years. Therefore, this legislation simply places existing Cricket Ireland practices on a statutory footing. Please see Cricket Ireland Code of Ethics and Good Practice for more information. If you are not Garda vetted through Cricket Ireland, you should not undertake any work in a paid or voluntary capacity with children or vulnerable persons in cricket.
For new Garda vetting applications, you can only use the new Garda Vetting Form. To fully submit an application, you need to send your Garda Vetting Form, Garda Vetting ID Validation form, Parent / Guardian Consent Form (if applicable) and copies of your identification to: Garda Vetting Department, Cricket Ireland, Unit 22 Grattan Business Park, Clonshaugh, Dublin 17, Ireland.
The forms are all labelled as 'UPDATED' and can now be found in the COACHES section of the website (found on the top menu): Coaches > Resources > Guidance & Documents.
Garda vetting applications cannot be processed if information is incomplete on the forms or documentation is missing.
If a Garda vetting applicant is aged 16 or 17 the Cricket Ireland GV Form must be accompanied by a Parental/Guardian Consent form. Failure to do so will deem the application invalid and it will not be processed.
