GIRLS UNDERAGE INTERPROS – UPDATE (22.7.2022)
We were delighted to have two Leinster teams participating in the Girls U15 Youth Inter-provincials (IPs) and a further two in the Girls U17s IPs. Throughout the 10 days of matches, our Leinster squads played teams from the Northern Cricket Union (NCU) and the North West Cricket Union (NWCU) in both 35-over and T20 formats. The U15s series was a great new addition to the Leinster Youth Programme. The players have already participated in our Winter & Easter programmes designed by Isobel Joyce (CL Women’s & Girls Development Officer). Those players ultimately selected can be very proud to have represented Leinster and their club at this level. This is the second year of the U17s with the addition this year of the 35-over residential series in Campbell College, Belfast. A great success all-round, with all unions benefitting from playing both formats of the game.
U15 GIRLS IPs
Leinster 1 came first winning all three T20s and all three 35 over matches with the NWCU and NCU. Leinster 2 came second after winning three matches overall and coming ahead of the NCU on net run rate.
