Hello again!
It's week four over here in Uitenhage and it couldn’t be going any faster. We are all really enjoying the challenges of living in another country, the opportunity to play good challenging cricket and making friends.
So far we have all played first team but recently David and I have found ourselves being moved to the seconds which makes it all that much more challenging an opportunity to get back in the side. Rory Anders has really found his feet quickly scoring 74 in the last game and 63 in the game before showing us all in the words of our Leinster coaches “good technique will stand up against fast bowling”. He is also taking wickets consistantly with a total of 12 already and today was announced as 1st team captain to play Westering after the usual captain got injured at training.
Cameron has had a sligthtly different role in opening batsman and part time off spinner (quite different to his role in Ireland) but enjoying his time all the same. Outside of cricket and school we are getting to explore the parts of the Eastern Cape that you just cant miss - the boardwalk in Port Elizabeth, a nice local game reserve, Spur, an 'all you can eat' ribs and wings restrauant and the Nelson Mandela stadium where we are going tonight to see the Super Kings take on the Stormers in rugby.
We look forward to writing back soon.
Danny and the lads.
