The 2019 season started quietly last week, with Clontarf hosting the first two matches of the season.
With the launch of Cricket Leinster's Match Centre imminent, and with five clubs hosting matches this coming weekend, here is a short guide to help all clubs set up a match on the new CricClubs scoring app.
To gain access to CricClubs, all scorers must be registered with Cricket Leinster. If you have not yet registered to be a scorer (but have already registered on the Cricket Leinster site), log in to https://www.cricketleinster.ie/login , press the three dot menu icon and apply for a new role (Scorer).
If you have not registered at all on the Cricket Leinster site, go to https://www.cricketleinster.ie/register and register to become a scorer.
Within 48 hours you will receive your login details for CricClubs. Contact admin@cricketleinster.ie if you do not receive this.
Download the CricClubs app from Google or Apple stores. If you are scoring on a laptop, PC, Mac etc, you can go to http://mobileapp.cricclubs.com. The screen grabs below are taken from the laptop version, but all versions look very similar.
Ahead of scoring the match, you need to set up the game. This is a two minute task that could be done in the days leading up to a match, or on the day of the match itself. You need to have an idea of the players who are playing, so this is easier one the teams have entered their teams on the Cricket Leinster website.
6. Login to CricClubs with the details you have received from CricClubs (and not your Cricket Leinster login!)7. Once you have logged in, you will see upcoming matches. Now click on the menu at the top left hand side of the screen8. Click on the Live Scoring option in the menu.9. On the "Ready to Start" tab at the top of the screen ,select the match that you wish to set up/score10. At the bottom of the screen, select "Start Live Scoring"11. You can now set up the match. All players in that team's "squad" are available to be picked. Tap each player to add to the match (1). If players from that club have not yet played for that team, they can be added by clicking "Add Club Players" (2). Then move down the page , selecting the players for the away team12. Select the number of overs in each innings (1) and then create the match (2)13. The match has now moved to the "My Games" tab at the top of the screen. You can leave this until you need to start the match, and come back to it later. When you are ready to score the game, click on the match.14. When you click on the match, you are presented with a series of options. You could assign the match to a different scorer (which is what you would do if for example you had battery problems during a match, and wanted someone else to take over), or you can continue scoring the match15. If you continue scoring, you will be presented with the toss options. You also have access to the "Actions" option at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Here, you can change the players that have been selected in the match, and change toss details (for example).16. The Actions button enables you to change players, toss details and other settings for the match
17. If you have any problems, there is a vibrant Cricket Leinster scorers WhatsApp group, or you can contact Cricket Leinster through social media or admin@cricketleinster.ie
