Last year’s beaten finalists Howth Road NS obtained their first victory in the ‘Blue Insurance’ sponsored Leprechaun Cup when beating Ongar/Dublin 15 school Castaheany Educate Together at a sunny Phoenix Park on Monday.
The final was the last in a series of games played around Leinster over the past twelve weeks and marked the 12th season of this most successful Primary schools, development competition.
The Leprechaun Cup continues to be the flagship for cricket development in Leinster with many new schoolchildren now being given the opportunity to play hardball cricket during their primary school years. Running parallel with the Leprechaun Cup this year was the Super League, the 4th Class Cup and also the Fingal Cup for girls.
