Wins for Merrion, Clontarf, Malahide and Railway Union in the Premier League, whilst Pembroke, Terenure, North Kildare and Rush were the successful teams in the Championship in another eventful day in the province!
PREMIER LEAGUE
Balbriggan vs Railway Union
The first innings was built around a fantastic unbeaten century from left-handed Chris de Freitas, guiding the side from potential trouble at 41/4 and 167/9 to a very good total of 230/9. Connor Fletcher’s 57 was the other mainstay of the first innings. Meanwhile, Railway’s bowling was led by a four wicket haul by Hamza Maan.
The chase was led by Ashil Prakash who made 55, but it was Riley Mudford’s explosive 71 from just 44 balls which led the way for the home side, as in spite of a wobble inspired by Dylan Lues’ three quick wickets, Railway Union ran out four wicket winners

Malahide vs The Hills
In the first innings, The Hills saw an excellent start between the top 3 of Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin, Athar Farooqi and Tómas Rooney-Murphy all making 30s to get them to an ideal platform at 120/2, however a fantastic spell of bowling between Hunter Kindley and Mike Frost, taking 3 and 4 wickets respectively, saw them collapse to just 153 all out in the 41st over.
The reply started badly for Malahide with Jamie Grassi dismissed early by Nicolaj Laegsgaard, before Younas Ahmadzai scored all 18 runs while he was at the crease. When he was dismissed, Hunter Kindley and Ali Frost shared an unbeaten stand of 139 to see the home side to a comfortable 8 wicket victory.

Merrion vs Leinster
This was another first innings where a massive collapse hindered the efforts of the team batting first, as Merrion fell from 150/1 to 191 all out, as firstly Joey Carroll, followed by Pete Francis’ comeback spell of four wickets saw the home side fight back powerfully. Swapnil Modgil made 73 at the top of the order for Merrion, with Stephen Doheny also making 51 in the number three slot, before Leinster’s pair of Australians came to the party.
Leinster’s chase never really kicked into top gear, as three wickets apiece for Sam Harbinson and Hugh Kennedy reduced them to 61/6, however an unbeaten 54 from Paddy Lynch kept them somewhat in the game, until Niranjan Shankar’s offies then wrapped up the tail as he too finished with three wickets.

Clontarf vs YMCA
YMCA, like Balbriggan, managed a complete turnaround in their fortunes whilst batting, as they recovered from 87/7 and the dismissal of Adam Rosslee for 43, to post a total of 186 all out. Tom Anders managed 47 and Olly Riley 29 in a 9th wicket partnership of 63 to bring them to the total. David Delany was destroyer in chief, taking 4 wickets including the big one of Rosslee, whilst there were also three wickets for Ryan Cronje.
The chase saw both David Vincent and Eoghan Delany dismissed early in the piece, however a sedate 54 run partnership between John McNally and David Delany settled the home nerves. When McNally was dismissed for 42, the score was 105/4, however controlled scores from Fionn Hand (35) and Ryan Karunakaran (36*) helped the home side to a 5 wicket victory.

CHAMPIONSHIP
North Kildare vs Cork County
The first result in across the board today was from Kilcock, where the visitors batted first and were all out for 109, Stefano di Bartolomeo top scoring with just 24, as Bakhtyar Nabi’s excellent spell saw him take 6 wickets and the Cork men reduced from a decent position of 68/3 to their eventual total.
The chase was not without its issues, as di Bartolomeo took three early wickets, seeing North Kildare to 50/5, before that man Nabi came to the crease and steered the side to victory, as he made 37* in sharing a partnership of 50 with Nurulain Boda, before eventually seeing the Kilcock side to a 4 wicket win.

Phoenix vs Pembroke
In the Phoenix Park, the home side batted first, and having once again collapsed to 29/5, were indebted to 66 from Tyrone Kane in particular in seeing the side to 179 all out. Three wickets apiece for Nick Stapleton and Gavin Hoey were the main contributors with the ball for Pembroke.
The chase got off to a fine start, as Diarmaid Tucker made 23 sharing a partnership of 61 with JJ Garth. He eventually finished on 67*, sharing a stand of 123 with Nick Stapleton who made 70* saw them the rest of the way home.

Rush vs Civil Service
The home side batted first in Kenure, and thanks to 72 from Nathan McGuire at the top, and 66* from Jarred Barnes at the end, pieces together a total of 282/9 in 50 overs, having at one stage looked like they would manage both far more and far less than their final score! Prasan Shah was the pick of the bowlers for Service as he took three wickets.
Civil Service’s chase looked in a lot of trouble, when Barnes had backed up his showing with the bat, taking three wickets to see the men from the Park reduced to 126/6, however the fight back from an incredible unbeaten century by Simranjeet Singh, who finished on 102 threatened to see Service to victory. However Muhammad Saad Waseem took the final three wickets to fall to sink hopes of a massive upset.

Terenure vs North County
Finally in Dublin 6, the visitors won the toss and batted first, and thanks to 73 from Niall McGovern and 57 from Eddie Richardson, who shared a partnership of 115 for the third wicket made a decent total of 246/6 from their 50 overs, Bhavic Tukrel and Raghav Grover both taking two wickets apiece for the home side.
Terenure’s chase got off to the worst possible start, as Donal Vaughan was dismissed early, however Henry Dall and Liam Harris (having swapped usual positions in the order) added a fine partnership of 64. Séamus Lynch made 27 in another stand of 46 with Dall, before a mini collapse saw them 116/4. Dall continued again dominating partnerships with Dónal Lynch and Gethin Kelleher before he was eventually dismissed for 90 with the score 203/6. From there on however it was Bhavic Tukrel who was the hero, he made an unbeaten run a ball 30 to see the side to a one wicket victory with 2 balls to spare.
