This afternoon's action in the IBI Corporate Finance Premier League & Championship saw a win for Phoenix in the Premier League, whilst in the Championship, there were wins for North Kildare, Rush & North County.
In the Premier League game, Phoenix batted first and made their way to 261/8. Jack Lalor top scored with a 91-ball 71, sharing a second wicket stand of 69 with Shane Getkate who made 54 from 56 deliveries. Tyrone Kane's 44 was the next best effort, whilst another stand of 69, this time unbroken between Amish Sidhu and Devender Ranolia guided Phoenix to their final total. There were two wickets apiece for Tom Johnson, Devan Keenan and Saqib Bahadur in a rear-guard bowling effort for Leinster. In response, 30s from Mark Tonge and Joey Carroll were the best of the resistance, as George Dockrell's 3/25 was supported by two wickets for each of Devender Ranolia and Ben White with Phoenix running out 98 run winners.
In the Championship, the first result of the day came from Kilcock, where North Kildare batted first against Terenure. Two early wickets for Dylan Cleary put the visitors on top, before four wickets for Henry Dall were supported by two more from Jinal Khatri in bowling the home side out for 111. 17 for each of Sayed Medhi Shah, Abid Taniwal and Nurulain Boda the top scores for North Kildare. In response, only Sid Nair's 27* and Dall's 18 passed double figures, as Bakhtyar Nabi's 5/16 and Taniwal's 4/23 shot Terenure out for just 80, meaning a 31 run victory for the home side.
In Inch, North County batted first and got off to a strong start, with Brian Dunphy making 60 at the top of the order, whilst there were scores between 21 and 30 from Suliman Safi, Eddie Richardson, Alan Joseph Mathew and Ashish Jain, as the side batted around John Devane's unbeaten 86 to run up a score of 279/5 in their 50 overs. In response, an 84-ball 81 from Thorne Prophet was the main shining light for Cork County, as he was the only man to score in excess of 24 with the side all out for 165 inside 37 overs. Alan Joseph Mathew was destroyer-in-chief as he took 6/30, with support from Richardson's 3/27, meaning a 114 run victory for the home side and a full points victory to tighten their grip on third position.
Finally, Rush bowled first against Civil Service, and a top score of 50 from Vipul Kashyap helped the side to 263/8. He was supported by 40s from Asadullah Ahmadzai, Deepak Jayachandran and Dhiraj Shetty, whilst they were once again aided by 39 extras this weekend. The pick of the bowlers for the home side was Nasir Totakhil who stood above the rest with 2/26, whilst there were also two wickets for Nathan McGuire and Asher Abbasi. The Rush chase was professional as can be, with 84 from Prasanth Viswanath, supported by 69 for Jack McGee, whilst 39* from Hashir Sultan guided the side over the line with two overs to spare, giving Rush a 6 wicket victory and extending their lead at the top of the table.
