The 12th round of fixtures of the IBI Corporate Finance sponsored Premier League and Championship took place this weekend.
IBI CORPORATE FINANCE PREMIER LEAGUE
BALBRIGGAN vs PEMBROKE
A delayed start in Balbriggan saw this match reduced to 48 overs a side. Pembroke decided to bat first and a stunning 104* from Theo Lawson was the highlight of an all round batting effort. Lorcan Tucker made 56 in support. Best bowling was Dylan Lues with 3/41 closely followed by Andrew Darroch with 3/51.
In reply Balbriggan battled to the end, with Christopher De Freitas making 61, and Dylan Lues (32) and Andrew Darroch (28) making late order runs. Pick of the bowlers was Poonish Mehta with 4/26, Paul Lawson took 3/40 and McCarthy, Hopkins and Nasr all took one each. Balbriggan just couldn't score enough runs and were bowled out in the last over, 20 runs short of the target.
CLONTARF vs PHOENIX
Phoenix travelled to their near neighbours and were asked to have a bowl first by Clontarf. Eoghan Delaney anchored the innings with 49 and was well supported by Luke Thompson with 42 down the order. But the bowlers were on top as Clontarf were dismised for 189 with 2.1 overs to spare. All the Phoenix bowlers took wickets, two for each of Hald, Dockrell, Rana and Ranolia, with one for Tyrone Kane.
The Clontarf bowlers were also on top in the reply as wickets fell regularly. George Dockrell was the pick of the middle order with 34 and Sam Morris put up good resistance with 26 in the lower order.
Michael Granger was the best bowler, 4/22, with Ruhan Cronje taking 3/28 off his 9.4. Tight bowling from Hand (1/24) and McDonnell (2/29) saw Phoenix dismissed for 136, a win for Clontarf by 53 runs.
MERRION vs THE HILLS
This was the feature game of the day and Merrion had no hesitation in batting first on winning the toss. An aggressive 73 off 60 from long standing openeer Dominick Joyce was backed up by Swapnil Mogill with 45 and Amish Sidhu with a quick 30*. Merrion finished on 265 from their 50 overs. Andrew Kavanagh will be the happiest bowler with 3/47 off 8 overs.
The Hills reply never really got going as they lost regular wickets to an all round effort from the Merion bowlers. Jack Carty (3/24), Max Sorenson (2/20), Amish Sidhu (2/6) and Swapnil Modgill (2/16) kept the squeeze on The Hills, bowling them out for 107 in the 33rd over. Murray Commings top scored with 35.
YMCA vs MALAHIDE
Malahide made the trek to Claremont Road and decided to bat on winning the toss. Their innings though never got going and an excellent effort from the YM bowlers saw them dismissed for 97 in 39.1 overs. Only Matt Ford got beyond 20 runs. All the bowlers got a wicket, Finn Conaty finishing best with 4/24 and James Forbes with 3/7.
The YMCA batters started cautiously in the face of some tight bowling from Malahide. Runs were hard to come by with Aaron Bailey making 31 off 90 before being run out. Tim Tector was snaffled first ball by Hunter Kindley but Jack Tector (53 off 91) and Curtis Campher (2 off 6) saw YM home with 20 overs to spare.

CORK COUNTY vs CORK HARLEQUINS
The Lee-side derby in The Mardyke would see the victors claiming bragging rights over their near neighbours. County won the toss and decided to use their home conditions first. Brandon Kruger was the star of the show with a solid 89 in the middle order, with Ryan Joyce making 48 and Shivam Kislay 47 in support. Their 50 overs saw them set a total of 232. Best of the bowling was Francois Mostert with 4/22 and Abubakar Saddique with 2/42.
Mostert also featured in the chase making 90* backed up by Cormac Hassett with 50 as County chased the target with 2 overs to spare. Kruger and Morris also took wickets, 2 each but County take home the plaudits in the second capital.
NORTH KILDARE vs LEINSTER
Leinster travelled to North Kildare and were asked to field first by the hosts. The innings was one of steady accumulation with several batters getting a start but only Patel (34) and Pawar (33) kicking on. Regular wickets for Leinster saw the hosts all out for 147. Mark Tonge finished top of the charts with 4/48, Ben Mitchell took 2/32 and Saqib Bahadur and impressive 2/7 off 10 overs.
The batting conditions didn't get any easier though and Leinster struggled to keep the scoreboard moving. Batters came and went regularly and Ben Mitchell was top scorer with 29. But the bowling efforts of Akhilesh Sharma (4/18), Imran ul Haq (2/31) and Abdul Sattar (2/22) saw Leinster dismissed for 101 in the 40th over.
NORTH COUNTY vs RAILWAY UNION (27th)
Railway won the toss and asked the hosts to hit first. Liam McCarthy had good success, taking 4/41, with Sultan and Grahan taking two wickets each. North County's 206 owed a lot to a 90 run partnership between Eddie Richardson and Jonathan Andrews, making 60 and 50 respectively.
In reply Railway scored slowly, looking to accumulate runs. North County took wickets regularly though, and the feature was Malcolm Nofal with 4/40. Ghaffar and Sludds took 2 wickets each and Railway were eventually all out for 146 in the 40th over. Alan Mathew made 44 as the top scorer in the innings.
RUSH vs TERENURE (27th)
The home team won the toss and decided to bowl first. A strong opening spell from Jarred Barnes (3/23) was backed up by Daniel Coffey with 3/29. Two wickets from Brandon Morris saw Terenure dismissed for 156. Donal Vaughan was the pick of the batters with 59, Colm Morgan made 24.
In reply Rush started at 100 miles per hour with Nathan McGuire and Llew Johnson both scoring heavily. Nathan made 51 off 24 before calling to Donal Vaughan. That was the only wicket to fall as Johnson made 94* off 38 and Rush passed the target off 12.3 overs.
