PHOENIX v CLONTARF
With both teams needing to pick up points at the bottom of the table this was a crucial match. Phoenix also won the toss and decided to bat, they made 252 all out in 50 overs. Runs were shared around with 50s for Anish Rana, William Bennett and Tyrone Kane. John McNally was pick of the bowlers with 3/39
In reply Phoenix took regular wickets, with opening pair of Hald (1/17) and Kane (3/18) both effective. PJ Moor with 46 and John McNally with 33 rallied somewhat but with the wickets shared between White (2/54), Ranolia (2/39) and Bennett (2/26) Clontarf were dismissed for 159 in the 40th over.
PEMBROKE v BALBRIGGAN
Balbriggan travelled to Sydney Parade looking to cement their place at the top of the table. They won the toss and decided that the home team should have first hit. Pembroke made 200/9 in 50 overs, featuring 50 for Diarmaid Tucker (including an 8! All run four plus four overthrows). Ryan Hadley was pick of the bowlers with 3/26 off 10, all the bowlers took at least 1 wicket.
In reply the Balbirggan innings was anchored by Ghanim Dara (41) initially and then Farooq Nasr (62) who was dismissed with only 33 needed. Kashif Ali scored a 6 to finish on 14* and Balbriggan chased the total with 1 wicket and 4 overs to spare. Best bowling went to Gavin Hoey with 4/33 closely followed by Donncha Tucker. Balbriggan won by 1 wicket
