THE HILLS v MERRION

This match saw second place in the table host third place, with the home team electing to bat first. A solid 88* from Mark Donegan, with 42 from Murray Cummins and 35 from Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin saw the first innings end with The Hills setting 221/8. Muhammed Sinan and Jack Carty were the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets each.

MALAHIDE v YMCA

A mid table battle here, with Malahide batting first, a choice they were surely happy with at the end of the first innings. That innings saw them finish on 251/1, with 131* for Ryan Hackney and 109* for Hunter Kindley. That partnership of 247* exceeds the previous best Malahide 1st XI partnership on record.

In reply Jack Tector and Mitchell Thompson set about the bowling, Malahide got an early strike and despite the efforts of Adam Roslee (38) and James Forbes (45) to stay with Jack, they were unable to keep up with the scoring rate. Jack perished on a fine 96 off 122 balls from a total of 238/7 in 50 overs. Malahide won by 14 runs

PHOENIX v CLONTARF

With both teams needing to pick up points at the bottom of the table this was a crucial match. Phoenix also won the toss and decided to bat, they made 252 all out in 50 overs. Runs were shared around with 50s for Anish Rana, William Bennett and Tyrone Kane. John McNally was pick of the bowlers with 3/39

In reply Phoenix took regular wickets, with opening pair of Hald (1/17) and Kane (3/18) both effective. PJ Moor with 46 and John McNally with 33 rallied somewhat but with the wickets shared between White (2/54), Ranolia (2/39) and Bennett (2/26) Clontarf were dismissed for 159 in the 40th over.

PEMBROKE v BALBRIGGAN

Balbriggan travelled to Sydney Parade looking to cement their place at the top of the table. They won the toss and decided that the home team should have first hit. Pembroke made 200/9 in 50 overs, featuring 50 for Diarmaid Tucker (including an 8! All run four plus four overthrows). Ryan Hadley was pick of the bowlers with 3/26 off 10, all the bowlers took at least 1 wicket.

In reply the Balbirggan innings was anchored by Ghanim Dara (41) initially and then Farooq Nasr (62) who was dismissed with only 33 needed. Kashif Ali scored a 6 to finish on 14* and Balbriggan chased the total with 1 wicket and 4 overs to spare. Best bowling went to Gavin Hoey with 4/33 closely followed by Donncha Tucker. Balbriggan won by 1 wicket
